IT Support - Toronto, ON

BroadGrain Commodities is recruiting an IT Support.  As a member of BroadGrain’s IT team, you will effectively support BroadGrain’s staff on all Information Technology needs.  The perfect candidate will be able to understand and assess needs, gaps and issues and very quickly resolve them as well as initiate areas for improvement.  Reporting directly to the IT Supervisor, the successful candidate will fill the following roles in the organization:

Core Responsibilities

Provide technical support for users of all locations; troubleshoot and resolve users’ technical issues and provide related information and advices to users’ inquiries.

Communicate effectively and proficiently with all users, internal team members and external vendors and partners

Deploy, maintain, repair and update user hardware and software; Identify and implement optimizations for all users’ hardware and software

Manage user on-boarding and off-boarding process

Document support cases, HW/SW inventory updates and follow up on open cases

Monitor backup jobs and overall system performance, such as server systems, LAN/WAN, DB

Escalate major and urgent system technical issues to IT team or/and related external technical support resources

Keeping abreast of new features, functionality of the user hardware and software

Wide Area Networking (firewall, router, VPN) as an asset

Must know and maintain all IT using MS SQL server, Citrix XenApp, Oracle DB, Crystal Reports, SQL language

Qualifications

Post secondary education in computer engineering / Science

Strong knowledge and 2-3 years’ working experience in configuring / diagnosing / fixing / troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including:

Desktop/laptop workstations

Windows 7/8/10 OS

MS Office 2010/2013/2016

TCP/IP networking (LAN/WAN/Wifi)

Mobile devices (iOS, Android)

Multi-function network printers

Good understanding and 1-2 years’ working experience in configuring/troubleshooting infrastructure hardware and software, including:

Windows 2003/2008/2012 server with AD, DNS, DHCP, RDS and file/print services

MS Exchange server

Telephone PBX

Virtualization hypervisor, such as VMware

Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Creative Suite a plus

Good communication skills and customer service oriented
